Am I correct in assuming that on the Fender 6G16 model that the reverb and tremelo are switched on and off by shorting tip to ground?

with a one button footswitch, it is simply two conductor cable with a switch in the end. any switching or shorting to ground is done inside the amp. but, if you are making the footswitch out of metal then earth the case.Amps: 15 Watt DIMCO valve amp made in New Zealand in the '60s, Fender Performer 1000, Sovtek Mig-50.
Guitars: Fender USA American Standard Strat and Tele, LTD MV-200 (Modded), Ibanez S Series (modded), and cheap Cort acoustic with Fishman.
