HTH - I'm pretty much the opposite, and really, in therms of sound, the plots can't really tell you what a change will sound like...just some idea of what to expect, in rough terms.
They guys that do all the tinkering are the ones that have a better idea of what the results of a chenge would be, in terms of tone.
