  • using OA2 voltage regulator tube

Ive got a 150V, OA2 VR tube lying around Im wondering if I cant put it to use. It is as simple as, the tube takes the B+ voltage and puts out a steady 150V supply? If so, could I use it for power in my preamp? Any thoughts?

The RCA tube manual - you really should have a copy of the RC30 by now - covers how to use them pretty well in the data for the tubes themselves.

But really, they work just like a zener diode.
