  • Nichicon VX bypass caps

    Are these worth replacing? Came stock in one of my amps, and they look sorta radioshack-ish. Would much be improved with a better quality type?

    On the subject of caps in the signal chain, there are also a few that i can identify the brand of. They are blue, and they are shaped like a box. They look like a full-wave diode package. I wish I could provide pics. Anybody know what Im talking about?

      Nichicon are quality caps. There is no need to replace them. Don't know what the other thing you describing is. Pic?

        Those are just "box caps". Same function, just easier for pick and place machines to grab onto. They work....and fail....just like any other cap regardless of appearance.
