  • Stuffed Eyelet Boards?

    Hey folks,

I'm looking to purchase an epoxy eyelet board, prestuffed with components, for an AB763 Deluxe Reverb. Does anyone know if this an available product/service on the market?

I've got one in the shop that is suffering from the unfortunate issue of conductivity and also microphonics.

I have not seen any kits like that.
Have you tried applying heat to the board? (ie: heat gun or high wattage hair dryer)

I have not. I have tried that in the past with other amps and it didn't seem to work. Have you had success with it?

You can purchase eyelet boards from Doug Hoffman, but you'll have to popluate it yourself.

Get an exact same layout (no big deal, everybody copies Leo) version of the current one, made out of glass epoxy, and transfer parts and wires.
You wonŽt even have to cut component leads or wires, everything is already the proper size.
Just grab a large old style soldering iron, say 100/125W, melt each eyelet solder and slap old board against the table, youŽll have all parts free in no time; then populate the new one and fill each eyelet with hot solder, easier done than said.
Plus youŽll save a bunch of money.

WouldnŽt recommend that on a PCB, but on very robust eyeletted boards itŽs very doable.
