    Pentode-triode combo valves

    Hi all!
    Is there a tube out there which combines a small-signal pentode, like a 5879, with a triode like 1/2 12at7 in a single bottle? The idea is a CF-driven tone stack following a pentode gain stage without having to add a tube.

    There are. A search of pentode-triode combo tubes led me to the 6EA8 among others. I've read some discussions and seen schems utilizing them. I haven't used any, so can't speak to availability.

        I made a preamp/pedal/booster using a 6aw8 but never worked all the bugs out, yet. I have a few hundred so i'm trying to find a use for them. There are hundreds of combo tubes out there just waiting to find a use.
