I have a Twin Reverb reissue chassis in what I think might be an older (maybe 70s) cabinet. Cab has a glued-in MDF baffle, is well worn, silver grille is yellowed (and can be removed), has pine sides. Cab also has been cut out to clear the filter cap cover so the chassis would fit, which has me questioning what exactly I have here. Any thoughts?

What's the chassis # and is there a # stamped on the tube chart? Just a guess but maybe someone re-capped the amp with larger than original filter caps. The original cover would not fit so they replaced it with a larger cover. Check the chassis to see if there are non-original holes drilled to accommodate the new cover. The black face panel may be a repro as well. You may have a silver face Twin that has gone thru a blackface conversion. You'll need to check inside the chassis to see what other mods were performed. The logo on your cab is a Silverface era logo, yet not always consistent. I see quite a gap between the grill and the front panel. How does it sound? I think that's more important with this amp rather than originality.
Just my guess

The only numbering on the tube chart (other than the patenet #'s) is printed (not stamped) and is 04794...and then the paper is torn. This printed number is on the lower right corner. This is definately a Twin Reissue chassis - PCB construction inside, dated 1991 inside, etc... The chassis has not be drilled for a larger filter cap cover. Why was it necessary to cutout the baffle board when the chassis is supposed to be the same as an older Twin?

In any case, the re-issue Twin chassis is not an exact duplicate of the original.
