  • Sourcing 1 watt CC resistors

    Hello all,
I am rebuilding a Gibson GA-40 and I need to purchase some 1 watt carbon composition resistors. I understand that they are out of production in the U.S. and the available supply is N.O.S. Do you have a favorite source for cc resistors and a favorite brand? The general discussion seems to favor Allen and Bradley.
Also, has anyone tried to build an amp using the CCR series of resistors from IRC? They have an interesting article on the unique strengths of CC resistors.
I would really like to use the 1Watt CC resistors in this amp. Please share your opinions regarding this issue.
    Thank You!

Weber VST has some CCs available. Not a lot of values, but they have commonly used ones (100k for plate loads for example).

Mojotone carries a large selection of values for 1 Watt carbon comps. I have no idea of their quality or where they are made, but they've got 'em!

You could always use two 1/2 watt CC resistors in parallel in a pinch.

          Mouser also carries them.

Antique Electronic Supply carries them. No idea of the quality but everything else I have bought from them has been good.
