  • What year Twin Reverb?

I am trying to figure the year of my Twin Reverb out...

It states... Fender Twin Reverb Fender Musical Instruments
It has Vibrato a silver cloth front and black sides
it has a number stamped in the back... 9935
    It is 135 watts
    8 ohm speakers
    on speaker it says 005379
    CBS instruments fullerton

Fender Amp Field Guide says that CBS/Fender made the 135-watt Twins between 1977 and 1982. If the faceplate is silver (not blackface-style), then that rules out 1980-1982. Is there a serial number on it that starts with an "A" or "B" (it would have five digits after the letter)?

    Hope that helps!

135 watts indicates late 70s. Any other numbers on the speakers? There are numbers on the transformers starting with 606; what are those numbers?

The 005379 number on the speaker is stamped on just about every Fender labelled 12" 4 ohm speaker I have seen from the mid- to late-1970s. Is there another code stamped somewhere on either speaker? Otherwise there should be codes on the mains transformer. You should be able to read it without pulling the chassis.
