I got fed up with wrestling with that crows nest of loose wires which often broke off as I tried to justify the original wiring with the schematic and made up a circuit board. After populating and connecting the board I started tracking down the noise which made the amp unusable.

When I determined that the field coil in my BR4 was the source of the noise I'd been trying to eliminate, I built a test box to mount a Weber Sig, choke, 1K resistor and OT.

The OT had earlier been obtained from Triode for a future octal build.

The OT is the same replacement they sell for the Deluxe Reverb.

I used a 1K 10W resistor but was not happy so I added a small Fender choke I had laying around.

After trying it out, I thought it could be better so I started measuring voltages and removed the resistor.

If I ever get around to fixing the cabinet I will determine how to get all that stuff in the small cabinet, but laying in a pile on the bench it worked just fine.

Once I did new caps and changed some of the resistors back to spec my BR6 has been very quiet. Only a slight hum when turned all the way up but nothing that I don't get in other tube amps.

Maybe you have a bad routing of HV line?
