  • 66 Deluxe Reverb

    Hey, I'm a newby at amp stuff, trying to teach myself. I've been going through this amp, replaced the original ca 1965 cardboard electrolytics, most everything works and sounds good.

    But on the Trem tube (V5) the Pin 1 voltage is off the charts, reads 433 volts (schematic calls for 270v). Any suggestions?

    When the plate voltage is really high like that, the cathode could have lost it's ground, or the resistor might have failed, or the supply resistor is incorrect or otherwise faulty. Check those for starters....

      Or the tremolo footswitch is missing.

        Amazing how those volts drop when you turn the switch on.
