I have a Fender Prosonic that I'm trying to modify a bit, so that I can get a brighter tone at lower volumes, especially when playing small clubs with a Les Paul. The amp is 100% stock except for an SRV tube in pre 1. Any suggestions? I have heard that replacing the Treble pot with a 1meg might do the trick but....

SRV Tube
It's a 5751 instead of the 12ax7. The purpose is to smooth out the preamb abit and give it a little spongier feel. The Prosonic already has miles and miles of gain compared to any other "stock" Fender on the planet. I just needed to clean it up a bit. The gain factor on this tube is about -15 from the 12ax7.
not only thatbut thisamp has the ability to run in Class A tube rectified, which i prefer, Class A/B Tube rectified, pretty much like most fenders ala silver face a think and Class A/B SS rectified, that gives me some mor Mesa type sounds. The latter along with my Gibson L6-S gives me a dead ringer for the Santana sound.

Treble bypass
I assume you all are talking about something similar to what I've done to the volume pot on guitars? How does it work on the am and what poles on the pot? I think i see where you're going with this, but i've not done this to an amp before.
