I'm restoring my old Silver Face Princeton Reverb. I was thinking it might look nice with a Blackface faceplate. I saw Mojo has some but they don't say Fender on them and I was hoping for something that is or looks orginal. Anyone know of another source?
This thing is no longer "vintage" in that I've modified it many times over the years, and few of the original caps/resistors are still in it. I bought it around 91non-working at a pawn shop and it is what I used to learn about tube amps. Now that I've got it going with the orginal circuit, I'm not real happy with the way it sounds through the reissue Jensen C12R (I've got it in an original sized cabinet with with a 12" baffle). It breaks up a little too much. Any suggestions what might be a better sounding 12" speaker in this application?
I'd also read that putting a Deluxe Reverb output tranny in a Princeton will improve the tone considerably. Interestingly, there is a hole in the Princeton chassis that accomodates the larger Deluxe OPT. Anyone familiar with this mod?
