  • Mystery Japanese amp

I'm working on a no name, possibly Japanese made practice amp. It would be a great help if someone could identify the make and model for me. It's valves are an EL84, two ECC83's and a 6X4. Rubycon caps and koaohm resistors. It sounds great! Ta.

I can't identify it for you, but it would be simple to draw up a schematic from it for servicing it.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

Probably a variation of the Yamaha G5. Has one less knob that I can see.

        Quite a variation indeed

The G5 is a 5W SS practice amplifier

It looks like a Teisco Checkmate 17 chassis. I think that it has the same tubes as well.

A Teisco it is! Thanks very much for that. I knew someone would know.
