  • Ampeg Gemini VI PT

Got an old chassis from this Ampeg. It has the PT and OT intact and not much more.Looking it over I see a white wire coming out of the PT and connecting to a cap to ground.Cant find it on the schem for this amp.Anybody have any idea what this was/is?

This schematic shows a cap on the CT of the filament winding to ground. Does that white wire have continuity with the filament wires?

This Ampeg GS-15 schematic shows it also.

Thanks, thats it.The schem I have doesnt show the cap on the fil winding, just a ground connection, its an old schem that looks like a copy of the one that was pasted inside the back cover of the amp.Dont remember where I got it,it is in a pile of schems I've had for years. But that raises another question, what is the point of this cap versus a solid ground connection?
