  • Rola G12 Field Coil Speaker

Just playing around with a Rola G12 Field Coil speaker.

There are four wires coming out of the field coil windings.
One pair has DC resistance of 1500 ohms the other pair has a resistance of < 1 ohm. They are not connected.

So the 1500 ohm winding is clearly the field coil. What was the other winding for?

Internet wisdom says that I need to be running about 12W into the field coil. Anyone know different?

It's a humbucking coil. You need to find a old amp or radio schematic and it will show you how it's wired.
