  • Blackface Princeton Pilot Gem Question

I just finished rebuilding my SF Princeton reverb using a Marsh Amplification repro cabinet and faceplate. It looks exceptional.

My question is, what type and color pilot gem did the original blackface Princeton's come with? I have both a round frosted nickel and faceted clear nickel gem in red. These are NOS, not the bright shiny ones every sells. But I saw a photo of an vintage blackface princeton and it had a round frosted blue pilot gem. I'm going with the found frosted red for now because it looks more vintage. Did they come in a variety of colors back in the day?

    Fender Jewels

Use a Red Jewel type They look like a cut cyrstal.Your round reds are more for older Fender amps, Tweed or White Tolex covered amps. The Blue jewels look cool on SF Fenders too.
