  • Fender Logo Black Paint?

I was cleaning the grill on my newly aquired 66 Vibro-Champ. I know I'm a dunce but there was some nasty crud (dried puke I think) & I used a toothbrush and some soap but I ended up taking off a lot of paint off the logo. I plan on going to Michaels and finding a paint for plastics and a fine brush - I just want it to look authentic. Has anyone done anything like this before?

    Thanks,

    Rick

If you really want it to be perfect you might have to send it out to be silk screened a new. A few amp restorers offer this service. It isn't that expensive.

I use a Testor's black enamel paint marker. If Michael's carries them, they will be in the model car section.

You should remove all of the old paint, clean the chrome as best you can, and then apply the new black background in one complete coat. If you're careful, it will dry perfectly smooth and glossy.
