I recently picked this amp up and want to recap it. I cant get the vintage style filter caps(sprague atoms) because they are to expensive. Could you recomend a different brand for a guy on a budget. I don't care about the vintage look just good repacement caps(physical size doesn't matter). I have shopped a JUSTRADIOS before and like their stuff. The 600v tone caps that are currently in the amp look simular to orange drops but are blue in color. I dont think these are original. Would you recomend the orange drops for these or should i leave them alone? The board in the amp is all wavy should i be concerned about this?

    thanks

If you are really on a budget, I'd use these:
    http://www.mojomusicalsupply.com/cap...974&s=Illinois

The blue caps could be original PAKTRON caps.
If they are original, then they are OK but not the best.... however, it might sound a only little tiny bit different with O'drops or any other polypropylene caps as the originals were polyester.
The wavy board is normal and unless broken I'd not worry about it.

Snap a digital picture of the board and attach it in a message here for more advice.

What do think of bumblebee caps or micamold tropicaps as replacements. I have a bunch of these in the old organs that i have disasembled. What dou you think of the of the Metalized Polyester Film or Metalized Polypropylene Film
Tubular Axial Capacitors from JUSTRADIOS as replacements. DO i have to use the larger type filter capacitors in this amp? Wouldn't the smaller size caps do just as good of a job? by size i mean physical size. I will pst picks when i get home

      thanks
