  • B15N now grounded, so what else redundant?

My '66 Ampeg B15N now has a 3-prong power cord, do I need:
    1 a ground switch
    2 a hum balancer
    3 a 'death' cap
I ask 'cos I'm also getting a 'pop' coming out of standby

    1. no
    2. yes
    3. no

Popping on standby switch has nothing to do with mains wiring. It is also quite normal on many many amps.

      Thank you.
I'll disconnect the redundant parts - do you think I should install some kind of 'bleeder' cap (or whatever you call it) to the switch to stop the popping?

I personally don;t worry about switch pops. If they really bug you, try a cap across the switch. A .01uf or maybe .047uf film cap at 1000v rating should do fine.
