  • Blues Jr noise

Help! I have a blues jr and it is making a noise I can not stand. There is a metal bracket under the two power tubes suspended by two springs. The power tubes seem to sit in this bracket. The tubes make a horrible rattling noise against the bracket. When I play clean the sound really satnds out,
espescialy when I play bass notes. My local Fender amp guy says my ears are too sensitive and I should just get a drummer and bass player. The noise is getting worse. Is there anything I can do?

    Tube Retainer

Just for an experiment, try removing the tube retainer.
If this eliminates the objectionable sound, you may want to look into a different rigging.
(I do not want your tubes falling out)
I have seen silicone O rings that may dampen the vibration.

The tube retainer is just a couple of springs and a U-shaped metal channel, what is vibrating? Does holding any of the parts stop the sound?

Remember that the tubes themselves could be vibrating internally as well, causing a noise.

Be careful with these tubes, as they get very hot!
