I got a 1966 (i believe) Gibson GA-15RVT today. It was advertised "for restoration" and I got it quite reasonably. It arrived as a bit of a mess, but I cleaned out all the mouse nests and attempted to plug everything in correctly. Although I will indeed change all needed electrolytics etc, I had to see if it worked at all. I plugged it into my current limiter after replacing the thoroughly bent el84s and turned it on. The light bulb glowed faintly as it should and I left it on for an hour or so. A quick test and it works pretty nicely. The tremolo is killer. The foot switch works well on the Tremolo side.
However I am stumped by the reverb. It has a jack that plugs into the chassis and two speaker wires coming out of the bag.
Are these meant to hook up to the speaker along with the regular wires from the OT?
I have never seen a rig like this and don't want to wreck anything. With the amp on and working there is no spring crash noise at all if you jar the amp ( I had to try), but other than the reverb I think it is going to work well fairly easily.
Any advice would be appreciated.
