  • Help id'ing output trannie, please

It's stamped "036485" "EIA 606 010" and has Fender stamped into it. It's currently in a '61 6G12-A Concert. I know it's a Shumacher, I know these are/were used in VibroKings, '59 Bassman RI's, but were they used in anything else? And what about the date codes, is this from 1990? 80? 70? 60? No way this could be original, correct? Any info would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Dave

The '036485' is a good number for the Concert.
    50 watts/ @ 2 ohms.

    The 606-010 is a Shumacher transformer (606).
The 010 tells me 1960/ tenth week.
(although these codes do fail on the date. There is no indication of which decade.)

Concerts with that transformer were only built in the 60's so that decade should be right and it is likely original.

Thanks to both of you for your quick and kindly replies!
This is good news, as I assumed it was most likely a replacement, as almost all the pictures
I've seen of the Concerts have those silver/zinc 45249 tweed bassman ot's on them. Outside
of the current offering from Fender of the "036485" replacement ot, I haven't found any info
        - until now, of course! Thanks again!

We are just speculating here and these are by no means definitive answers. For vintage/collectible valuations, you need to consult experts.
Posting pictures here would also help.

All of these numbers are the same transformer: 125A9A, 022855, 45249, 036485.

The 45249 was a Tweed era tranny made by Triad.

            But, knowing Leo.........

I understand and agree with what you both are saying, I'm just not sure what years Fender used that particular model # (036485). Here are pics if it helps:

To be fair, I should tell you why I have concerns- when I first got this amp more than a decade ago, I realized it was far from original in shape, retolexed, regrilled, completely recapped (in the most goofiest manner), and I noticed that the leads from the ot had extentions soldered/shrink-wrapped on them, this led me to believe it was a replacement. However, recently I took the amp out and opened it up and noticed that the leads to the heaters from the jewel light to the first output tube had jumpers on them as well, then I noticed evidence of a fire on the screen on the top of the cab somewhere near one of the power tubes, although no signs of burn are on the sockets or board nor components. This makes me wonder if someone just cut off the burnt parts of the wires, attached jumpers and left the original components in. The date code on the ot that puts it in the ballpark for a '61 Concert has me scratching my head, although, like I said, I've only seen (and heard of) those 45249 ot's in 'em, I hope I'm wrong!

My recollection of it is the Triad numbers and the 125 numbers were the only ones used before CBS and the 022855 number was added after the CBS take over. I think that the 036485 is a more modern number from the 80's and 90's eras.

I'll look at my old files to see if I can find any specific reference for that part number.

Edit: In looking at a few files, the earliest reference to that part number is the reissue 59 Bassman, dated 2/1990
