        Another one I despise is double sided boards that the solder does not flow up to the top layer.

        All mechanical strength is thrown out the window.

        Why do they do this?

        I have a suspicion that :
        (1) the individuals running the wave solder machine are clueless as to how to make a good board.
        (2) pressure from above (production schedules) causes the operator to cut back on the preheat time.

        Either way, it sucks to have to go in and resolder the board.
