Hi,
I recently got an Electar Zephyr combo amp which seems to be from between 1940-41 by the serial number (7007) http://wiedler.ch/nyepireg/database.html
4 of the 6 tubes in the front of the amp are 25Z5, the black metal tube is an e-8128 (ballast tube/resistor?), and beneath the metal tubing case is a 6C6 with a wire running up to the control panel. The 4 tubes in the back are 25L6. The power cord has been cut off and there are also 2 wires running from the chassis that aren't connected to anything, I've read that some of these amps used batteries for tube biasing so thinking maybe thats what those are for?
Haven't had much luck finding a schematic for this but most things I've read about it say its not a typical circuit and can be dangerous without an ISO transformer. I'm more familiar with DC circuits and don't have much experience with tube amps so just looking for some general advice for the restoration of this amp beyond recapping it. To be clear, I know the dangers of working on tube amps and I don't plan on working on this amp until I'm absolutely sure of what I'm doing.
I got this from an estate sale of Vincent Bell so theres a chance its been modified in some way. Attached are some pics.
Thanks!
