  • Microphone signal to indirectly heated cathode?

Is it possible to send the mic signal to an indirectly heated cathode in a triode tube instead of the grid? What would happen if tried?

      1) Yes, you can
      2) It will be a low impedance input
      3) You will have a very extended frequency response, up to the MHz range, depending on tube type.
      4) Voltage gain will be about the same as if you fed it to the grid, but the low impedance problem remains.
