  • Leslie 122 convert to guitar amp

    Hey guys I was wanting to know if anyone has ever tried converting an old leslie 122 into a guitar amp head because I was wanting to do it any help I could ge would be great. Thanks

    I bought a 122 for the same reason, and because it had a great sounding Jensen P12N in it. You can Google for the owners manual, which has the schematic in it. If I remember correctly, the amp in the cabinet is basically a power amp, and the organ plugs into it with a multi-pin socket. What you need is to add a preamp to the circuit to use with guitar, or better yet, just replace it with a new build because you won't be far from that anyway. Sell the 122 chassis for funds or salvage for parts. I never built an an amp for mine, because I wired it as an external speaker for my guitar amp and just let it spin. Equally cool, and a fast way to make it useful.

        sorry ahamay79 im not selling it. I was trying to see if it would be worth me using the amp to make into a guitar amp but i didn't realize it had no pre amp
