I don't have the schematic, but, out of curiosity (I *did* repair one a *long* time ago), ¿is it the one with a zillion power transistors mounted on-board, each with its own little heatsink, where losing fan flow means instant overheating?
I also seem to remember it had some kind of "power control" where it actually varied the threshold of a hard limiter ¿was it optical?
They were *very* clean.
Post some picture.
What's the actual problem?Juan Manuel Fahey

One channel is burnt up. one channel works. I have been flip flopping between fixing this thing and chunking it in the trash. I can't imagine it has much resale value today. I need to figure out what the house numbers are on the transistors. thought it might be a good project for my jr tech.

Problem is i have at least 20 old dead power amps in my tiny shop at the moment. boards burnt beyond repair (mostly crest's) that i can use for chassis and lots of transformers of all sizes and shapes!! lots! so keeping "another" amp around for a project chassis just doesn't interest me. would LOVE to get rid of at least a dozen of what i already have. I have gotten to the point of just chunking stuff in the trash as i just don't have room for it and no one seems to want it!
I get $0.06 cents a pound for transformers and $0.02lb for sheet metal. $0.55lb for aluminum and about $0.60lb for circuit boards.
So this amp...working is maybe worth $100-150 i think so im on the fence about fixing it....on one hand a hundo is a hundo, but on the other, how much time and money in parts do i need to put into it to make that hundo....
You want it? make me an offer!Last edited by zero cool; 05-24-2010, 04:20 AM.

Unfortunately we live 10000 km apart, or I would gladly pick those 20.
Board and components cost is nil, the real expensive parts are the chassis, power transformer, big caps and heatsinks.
Good luck.Juan Manuel Fahey
