  • Reverb tank on polytone mini brute II

    Hi everybody,
    I bought an old polytone "mini teeny" whit an accutronics reverb tank, serial n. 1db2c1c 2 springs. Unfortunately the reverb is broken, no way to fix it and I can't find the same reverb unit anywhere ( out of production).
    Could someone tell me which other reverb tank may I replace with?

    Thanks so much for help

    Hi Herb and welcome to the forum.

    Yes... these will become harder to find now Belton has taken over Accutronics
    and a lot of new builds seem to be going digital.
    From this site ::::::::: Accu Bell Sound Inc ::::::::: under products - type 1
    can figure out the specs of what you have and see if there is something close.
    1DB2C1C
    DIGIT #1 - REVERB TYPE
    1 = Type 1
    DIGIT #2 - INPUT IMPEDANCE
    D = 250ohms
    DIGIT #3 - OUTPUT IMPEDANCE
    B=2250ohms
    DIGIT #4 - DECAY TIME
    2 = Medium (1.75 to 3.0 sec)
    DIGIT #5 - CONNECTORS
    C = Input Insulated / Output Grounded
    DIGIT #6 - LOCKING DEVICES
    1 = No Lock
    DIGIT #7 - MOUNTING PLANE
    C = Vertical Connectors Up

    At Antique Electronic Supply they have
    P-RK-1BB2D1B Reverb Tank - Accutronics - Made in Korea, 1BB2D1B
    150 ohm input, 2,250 ohm output, medium decay, type 1, 2 spring.Made in Korea.

    You are looking for 250 ohm input, 2250 ohm output 2 spring that can physically mount with the connectors up.
    This one may be ok although it's meant to mount with the open side down.

    P-RK-8DB2C1B Reverb Tank - Accutronics - Made in Korea, Medium Decay, 8DB2C1B
    310 ohm input, 2,575 ohm output, medium decay, type 8, 3 spring. Made in Korea.

    That probably wont make a huge amount of difference if it has to be mounted with the connectors up probably have to check it doesn't bounce around and bump into anything. Rearangement of the tiny mounting springs may help if it is a problem.
    It also has a third reverb spring which may be an improvement !

    The impedence is a bit closer .. I think either of these would work - its hard to predict which will sound better to you.
    Vibroworld have some too
    Reverb Pans@Vibroworld.com The Source for Discount Tube Guitar Amp parts.

    4DB2C1D but its 17" long and may not fit in the Polytone "Mini Teeny"

    Maybe someone else would like to comment.
