Marshal JCM 900 sl-x hi-gain 2500

Hi,
I have a JCM 900 SL-X head hi-gain, and i canīt take a good clean sound only crunch or heavy sounds, does any body knows how to change that, so i can have a clear sound...pearphs in the pre amp section of the head....Any ideas

Sorry by the bad news, but the short answer is: that's the sound they have.
It's not a real 2 channel amp, but only the dirty one, with 2 modes of operation: crunch and high gain.
These are killer, of course, and the reason people buy them.
