Hi I'm a newby and I need some help if possible to sort out a problem,I have a Peavy TNT 130 the notes played on D and G string are clear as a bell but the notes played on the A and E string are distorted through the amp,is there a way to tell if it's the Black Widow Speaker or maybe caps in the pre amp. Any help would be most apreciated.

Plug your guitar into the power amp IN jack, still does it or not?
Play your guitar through a different amp to make sure you do not have a pickup problem.
You can disconnect the internal speaker and connect the amp to a different speaker for test to determine if the speaker is at fault.
And you can connect a different amp to that speaker to test it.
The BW speaker has a vent hole in the center of the magnet. Look in there. There should be a foam rubber plug filling the hole. Is it there? They sometimes come loose and fall inside, then they get in the voice coil gap.
This may sound silly, but lay the amp on its side and try it, also lay the amp on its back and try it. The theory here is if it is vibration-dependent, then having gravity pulling to the side or rear may change things. If it does change things, then we have something l;oose inside.Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

G'day Enzo, thanks for the fast reply, the Bass is fine,no pickup problems, sounds fine plugged into my Ibanez Promethian with a TC Quad Box,I'll try the other suggestions to see if it makes any difference. It wasn't expensive and but I'd like to have it spot on.
