  • Eganter Tweaker 40

    Hey Folks,
    I have a customers Tweaker 40...like new.
Amp blew the fuse just under the ac plug in.
It has been replaced 3 times. Once without the tubes and
    it immediately blows.
Other 4 internal fuses and the one in the twist out fuse holder are all good.
I have no high tech way to test the transformer but per Blad
at Egnater this one has the good batch of power transformers....
    Me I don't think so.
I did get continuity between all the wires of the power transformer.
Black to red, red to blue etc..All have continuity to each other.
    Any ideas?
It's maybe a couple of years old and very well taken care of.
    Now out of warranty...figures!
I may send this to Mercury Magnetics and have it really tested.
    Just wanted some ideas!
    Thanks
    tube dude

    No schematic?

The only way to prove that it is the transformer blowing the fuse, is to disconnect all of the secondary wires from the transformer & power it up.
If it still blows fuses, then Bruce has it wrong.
