Mackie SRM650 Not Limiting

I have a Mackie SRM650 on the bench with new PCB's, and the LF output does not go into limiting, it just goes into clipping. Has anyone else observed this? The HF output limits as expected. Apparently the DSP PCB is supposed to control the limiting function, but I see no evidence of that occurring.

Without seeing a schematic, it is hard to tell what Mackie is up to there.

Does the limit LED come on when the tweeter is trying to be overdriven?

From the manual I take it that the low freq's can go to clipping.

Yes, the limit LED comes on when the tweeter output is in Limit mode. Yeah, I guess they let the woofer clip, not exactly bulletproof, I guess.
