Hi!
My friend has an old Hammond L-100 organ from year -69 and asked my help for getting better sound from it. He also has a Leslie 770 which is transistor-based cabinet but still really good sounding equipment.
He is looking for more rock-style b3-kind of organ sound and I want to help him to get more better sound...
IMHO the Hammond sound that he already has sounds really nice with all hammond generator and tube amps involved, but as I've understood more distortion/ "mellowness" is needed.
Do you have any experience / ideas how to modify this kind of organ / setup?
First thing that I'm going to do is cap-job. I opened all the parts and saw original caps in it and I guess those have done their best...

The Hammond signal going to Leslie has been fed before the actual power amp of the organ.
I was wondering if the signal could be somehow fed after the power amp, would it give more _the_ sound to it?
Any experience / info about Hammonds overall would be highly appreciated!
When I think of Hammonds, I hear the sound of Deep Purple's John Lord which I really dig!
