  • Replacement Speaker for Yamaha StagePAS 300

    Hi all,

First post here. I'm looking for a suitable alternative or any advice for a broken StagePAS 300 speaker. An original Yamaha model is an AAX6165R. https://www.proaudioservice.co.uk/pr...iver-aax6165r/ They're however out of stock now. Has anyone got any experience replacing these speakers? I'm just concerned about the Ohms and sizing.

Very new to all this, so any advice is greatly appreciated!

    All the best,
    Charlie

    Hi Charlie....

    Update: Remove speaker size.

Are you absolutely sure the speaker is bad? If you have two speaker cabinets, try swapping out the bad speaker with the other one (assuming that one is good).

You are correct in being concerned with the "Ohms." Technically, the term is "speaker impedance." The link you provided does not tell us anything about the speaker specifications. According to this post, the speaker might be six ohms.

So an eight ohm speaker should work fine. I like Eminence Beta speakers, maybe the Beta. It is a good PA speaker.

It's not just an amp, it's an adventure!

8 inch, 8 ohms, 100W RMS and you will be fine. The only measurement I'd be worried about is the depth of the speaker, depending on how much clearance there is in the cab.
