  • Got this from SSGuitar today

It's official, the Kickstarter campaign is live for our first amp kit!

The SSG-AMP-1 (Honey amp) is a small 1/2w, LM386-based amp. Unlike most LM386 amps though, it doesn't use that chip for it's primary distortion. The LM386 is set open for a gain of 20. Preamp duties are taken care of by a modified version of my 5th Gear Overdrive circuit, including a custom BMP style tone adjustment.

It comes with aux in and headphone out 1/8" jacks, and has gain, tone, and master volume controls. And it's also designed with modification in mind! It has H1 and H2 pads on the PCB which go directly to the gain pins on the LM386. Need more gain, turn it up! Or you could bypass the tone stack, or the preamp...set it up as a bass or keyboard amp! Check it out!

And for the record, the 'my' in "my 5th Gear Overdrive circuit" is Joe Raymond, creator of the SSG forum.

No problem, I just thought I'd give him a plug, for those who didn't open the links.

            I backed the KS.

It looks and sounds like a cool amp project.
If it ain't broke I'll fix it until it is...
