  • Praise for Ashdown

I wrote Ashdown service/parts to see where I could get replacement bulbs for my Ashdown EVO 500 ABM bass amp head. Well they sent me two bulbs for FREE!

Now that my friends is what I call customer service!

Hey, if you are ever in Lansing, I'll give you some free bulbs too. Not that kind, but hey... I do have a ton of #44 and #47. I can share those.

What form of bulb goes in that?

I keep forgeting to take progree photos. The bulb is a small glass cylinder with bare wire leads on both ends. My multimeter says 17 volts on the terminals.

Thanks Enzo. I found that my local Ace Hardware actually carries #47 (Fender pilot light) bulbs! The have other bulbs, but I did not check the values. Ace has an amazing assortment of fasteners and miscellaneous stuff for amp repair.

OK, as I thought. "meter lamps" surprising enough. They come in several voltages. MCM used to sell them. MCM is now part of Newark and they still sell them as MCM brand. When I was their service center, I used to get them from TEAC too.

All of which overlooks that Ashdown did indeed come through for you in a great way.

Ashdown always struck me as a pretty decent company that would really help me out with parts and advice, and in turn I've always recommended their products because they actually want to support what they sell and not stand in the way of a customer getting their gear repaired.
