I am looking for an inexpensive pair of 8 inch, 8 ohm, 25 to 30 watt guitar amp speakers for a Peavey Backstage Chorus that I am working on. What do you recommend?

I'm not endorsing or dissing these speakers. I haven't used them. I just thought I'd post because you were looking for "inexpensive".
The first is very inexpensive, and slightly under your power requirements, but would probably work just fine.

The second is more expensive (still not very), and rated for more power.

Of course, whatever you get, look at specs to make sure they will fit in the cabinet depth wise.

Warehouse speakers often has some options for eight inch speakers in something other than 4ohms, but looking on line I see that they're out of stock for such options at this time. This is a bad time to be looking for oddities I guess (covid shipping troubles again?).?. I'm still looking but no promises."Take two placebos, works twice as well." Enzo

Try Weber https://www.tedweber.com/speakers/si...ries/8-models/ I've used many different models from Weber, never been disappointed.

Thanks for the suggestions. Though good speakers, those speakers did not fit my requirements. I ended up just ordering two Jensen Vintage Ceramic 8 inch, 8 ohm, 25 watt speakers from Antique Electronic Supply for $48 each (10% off with code) so $43 which is not too bad.
The guy I am repairing the amp for really is a poor musician. I usually repair his stuff for free or cost of parts.
