  • ECC83 vs ECC84

    Hi Folks.
A Friend of mine has come across some ECC81, 2 and 4 valves.
Am I wrong to think that an ECC84 is simply a higher gain version of the 83?
Also - what would happen if an 84 was used in the place of an 83?

Obviously nobody wants to get a few hundred volts up their finger-end - I thought I'd ask first.

    Cheers,
    Ian.

I wouldn't sub an ECC84 for an ECC83, the pinouts are different.

        Low Mu

And the Ecc 84 has a Mu is amplifying factor of 24 instead of 100 for the Ecc83
