I KNOW this is the wrong 'area'... but... can anyone tell me where I can learn about solid state amp repairing??? DVD??? Books?? Where to I go for it???

Really, you will get better response if you start a thread in either Music Electronics section or the Theory sectio of guitar amps.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

Jack Darr's "Electric Guitar Amplifier Handbook" covers both tube and transistor amp repair.
