      That's clearly not a vacuum tube as it's clearly exposed to the open air. However, H.P Friedrichs has made some.

        think the article mentioned using a glass salt-shaker as the bulb......just not enough pictures, I'd guess.

          I think it goes without saying that he operated it in a bell jar connected to a vacuum pump.
