      Thanks!

I wonder where they do the pre assembly then?

last time I checked, they do the important bits in the US and then ship the whole thing overseas for assembly... probably using chinese bottles and pins and whatnot. i don't know if that is true for all the reissues or just some, but that is what they have been leading us to believe.

I can't seem to get them from the wholesalers at the moment - I am not a GT dealer. The problem is that they say they can't get any until next year.

I *really* like the sound of this tube in V1 of many of my amps. But I have had problems with noisy ones - some unusable. I feel that given what these babies cost and the "GT" screening process for a premium tube - that duds should almost NEVER happen. I actually wish I *didn't* like it so much given the quality problems and cost with it - but it does make a difference and I bought them despite all the issues (I just had to screen them).

Anybody know the issue with these? I think they *do* sound nearly as good as NOS mullard when you get a good one. Maybe I just need to buy old stock used and tested mullards - NOS mullards are out of sight. Even used mullards are expensive.

I have seen some Indian "mullards" that sounded good - as well as some japanese "mullards" that also sounded pretty good. These appeared to be made using mullard tooling - at least the plate structure and glass looked the same (you know, the "seamed" and thin bottle). Any place to find these? I am in need of a *fix*

Yeah Thorny I like em too. Not the brightest tube around but nice sound stage.
I buy em at My local GC.
