In my recent builds I almost exclusively use 6n2p-ev as compared to current production, I am getting those russian tubes for a fraction of the price. And soundwise I can't hear any difference comparing it to JJs, EHXs ...

Well, they *are* good, but keep quiet before those who hear differences in packaging box colors, or they'll Lynch you.

        Hi,

if I use 6N2P, do I need to change the design too? The original design uses the 12AX7.
        Or the just the wiring?

and what cheaper tube to swap EL84?
Just like 6N2P subtitutes the 12AX7 with cheaper price.

        Thank you

Basically you can use them in 12AX7 circuits.
They are cheap because they are the most popular dual triode used in Russia, and because "nobody famous" used them.
That does not happen with EL84's.

The 6P14P-EV is a Russian equivalent of the EL84. (P = Russian letter Pi)

Always seems to be loads of them on Ebay.
"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"

              Thanks, I'll check them.
I have a strong suspicion that most of them will be relabelled and sold as straight EL84, with EL84 prices.
