  • Transformer for GGG NeoVibe - UniVibe clone

I am just about to build one a NeoVibe using the PCB thats on GGG as follows:

    http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/...=121&Itemid=26

I have just got my hands on one of thse transformers and I wondered if it was ok to use it:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA:IT&ih=019

The instructions in the 1st link say the transfomer needs to be "14-16VAC or 20-24VDC wall xfmr" and the one I just got off ebay says its "24V 24V AT 25VA WOULD GIVE 25V AT 1A OR 50V AT 1/2A".

I am keen to use it as its dead cheap and its TOROIDAL so less interferance.

    Thanks

    Mark

The Univibe uses a 14-16 volt AC transformer which when rectified will provide somewhere between 20-24 volts DC.

The transformer you have purchased has 2- 25 volt ac secondaries that can be paralleled for 25vac at 1 amp or wired in series for 50vac at 1/2 amp. If you rectify the 25vac you will get 33-34 volts DC, too much for the Univibe circuit.
