CS-3 Buzzing

Anyone have any idea why a Boss cs-3 compressor would have a huge buzz when unplugged. Sounds like a ground problem. It's been modded, mostly different caps. It sounds fine when plugged in and no ground problem, but unplug the instrument side and you get a huge ground problem, just the instrument side. No broken traces or bridges that i can see.

Anyone?

That input jack should have an internal switch that connects the signal to ground when nothing is plugged in.
