  • DOD FX20C Vbias problem

    Hello!

I am trying to make a clone of the DOD FX20C Phaser pedal, but one thing is holding me back. On the schematics of the pedal there are these Vbias points, and I dont know what to do with them. Should I connect them together or what? Here is a link to the schematics http://www.schematicheaven.com/effec...se_shifter.pdf

Yes, they ALL go back to the same point shown in the upper left part of the circuit as vbias. This is a voltage halfway between +9v and ground: 4.5V.

The FX20C has only four phase shift stages, while the FX20B has six. This is a difference of 2 notches produced, versus 3. Not huge, but it's a slightly lusher phase shift sound.

Note that Tonepad ( http://www.tonepad.com/ ) has a number of tested layouts available (and excellent boards for sale), among them a clone of the old Ross Phaser, which also uses a pair of LM13600 chips, and is VERY close to a Small Stone in design. http://www.tonepad.com/project.asp?id=25

Highly recommended. What the DOD has in its favour is electronic switching, and variable sweep width.
