replace kaoss pad touch screen with pots

i have a korg kaoss pad (kp1). the touch pad broke and was removed , and i want to replace it with potentiometers if possible... it had a 4 wire touch pad. if anyone can help me it would be nice, im not sure if i can just wire some pots up, and if i can, i dont know which order to connect the four leads...

It appears to be resistive, so it might work. The four pin connector to the pad is wired 1 to 3 and 2 to 4. I have zero idea what the resistance range might be.
