  • Singing Wah pedal.

I built a Vox 847 wah pedal into a very old Coloursound Swell pedal on a solder pad circuit board. It works pretty well with a nice wide range wah. Never any problem until sound check last night's gig when I heard local radio whenever I kicked it on. The news program actually. Can anyone suggest why this is happening? The venue was on 33rd floor of a hotel so I was pretty high up. MAybe it is something to do with the inductor acting as an aerial?

My crybaby does that when I put a Fuzz pedal after it. I think it interacts with the wah because when I put a buffer in between them it stopped.

      Try this:
Get two 10pf ceramic capacitors. Solder one to the collector and base legs of one transistor and then solder the other 10pf across the collector and base legs of the other transistor. You can solder them on the trace side of the board. This should stop the radio interference.

My dad is MR Bloodbath. Just kidding.

Anyway, let us know how it works out even if you have to climb 33 floors!
