  • Line 6 DL4- Power clicks on and off

Hello, I am new to this forum and do not have much technical vocab in this area, so be patient. Thank you for any help in advance!

My Line 6 DL4 will only turn on if I press the power adapter jack against the unit. When I release the pressure, the unit clicks off.

I opened the unit to have a look at the 'plug'. On the back of the 'plug part' (the black piece that houses the power jack) it seems the metal from the plug doesn't have a good connection to the metal from the circuit board. See attached photo.

My question is, should I solder these two metal pieces together?

    Thank you,
    Ward Lee

I do not know how to insert a picture....Here's a link to DL it if you wish to see it. Thanks!

That power jack should have three legs sticking down through the board. resolder all three. This is a common problem on anything with a power jack.

Generally we would solder from the underside of the circuit board. Your jack is on the top side.
