Hello,
I am a neophyte in every way to guitars, amps, effects, maybe even life...
I had this idea to cut holes in my guitar, and install a foot pedal inside the guitar and all has gone well except for the ticking.
I have a Electro Harmonix Nano Small Stone that I removed all switches and potentiometer and soldered wires to my own switches and installed it in the guitar and everything sounds great except for the ticking.
Initially I removed the 1M pot from the board and installed a 25K pot w/push pull dpdt switch and the ticking was really bad.
Today I put in a 500K pot w/push pull dpdt switch and the ticking is not as apparent.
I can't find a 1M pot w/push pull dpdt switch in the USA and before I spend much more money on this project, I'm looking for someone to help me understand what I'm doing and what could possibly be the reason for the ticking noise. The ticking noise is definitely affected by turning the pot.
Any advise anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Daniel
